Menus, maildrops, maps and mmmmfacebook

It’s prepping time! Over the next week and a half we will be pouring over recipes, data books, post office closures, Facebook group updates and getting our fundraising letter ready to mail.

By the way, if you are on Facebook ask to join our group: AT for SLCC!

We’ve endured the challenges of making a Facebook group…it is more difficult than one might think.

We are scouring the internet for good deals on camping equipment and the most recent find was a sleeping pad repair kit at REI for 30% off and free shipping for a grand total of $3.79! We get excited about the little things these days.

One blessing has been finding someone in Sioux Falls who thru-hiked the trail in 2009. There have been several emails going back and forth about questions such as: Do your feet really swell during the hike? Are mail drops necessary? How much did your pack weigh? We hope to meet him in person before we depart.

Have a Merry Christmas…and a Happy New Year! (Alison sings slightly out of tune)

About Renee

I enjoy adventures. Whether running marathons, thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail, working with Service Adventure, or working with youth as Program Director of Swan Lake Christian Camp for 9 years, I have encountered many an adventure. On this site I will try to capture the big and small ones for you. Enjoy!
