No Maine
Recently I have encountered several section hikers that have quit early. Some had injuries and some were fed up with the rain. That is one of the differences between the mentality of section hikers vs thru-hikers. Section hikers can give up and go home, thru-hikers know there will be trials and it’s all part of the trail. People leaving is kind of demoralizing though. I have not felt like giving up yet, which is good. I know those days will come, but I hope I can weather them.
I have definitely had pain and rain, so hopefully Maine is in my future. 🙂
Hiking the trail is not easy – but it has been rewarding and fun at times too. We are all in this together and the hard days become good stories. I’m still happy to be out here and I thank God every day that my body is able to do this.
Thanks so much for your support and prayers! I couldn’t do it without all of you!

Dear Renee
You’re having quite the adventure! I’m glad you can still be positive about this whole thing. Your description of the trials and tribulations of hiking the trail in the rain kind of put a damper on the whole thing. But your attitude and God’s presence with you will be a big help in reaching your goal.
Take good care,
Cheryl
You are an inspiration Renee! : ) and, we appreciate your honesty. I can’t wait to read your book someday! or maybe it should be a mini-series! : )
Renee…..keep the faith….you WILL make it to Maine I have no doubt. You are strong physically and mentally. Just remember your goal!! Thinking about you every day. Kim
